DE Peyton Bishop (6-4 230) has a new home for this football season. Last week, Bishop announced that he will transfer from AC Floria to Dutch Fork for his senior season. In fact, he plans to enroll at Dutch Fork and begin classes there in about a week.

Bishop is also in the midst of arranging his spring and official visits for the schools most involved with him. Right now, he is looking at Tennessee, Mississippi State, Cincinnati, and Georgia for spring visits as well as official visits.

Another school to watch with Bishop in the coming weeks is South Carolina. The interest from the Gamecocks is picking up and could lead to something more.

“Coach Deion Barnes is going to make a visit with me at Dutch Fork soon, and that should probably be an offer,” Bishop said.  “After that, we’ll schedule an OV or something like that.  I went up there to the junior day (January 31st), and he was talking good.  He said he really liked my film, and he can develop me.  He wants to see me at Dutch Fork in the spring.”

Bishop said the visit with the Gamecocks in January afforded him the chance to get to know the people a little more.

“I’m a hometown kid, so I know a lot about USC already,” Bishop said.  “It was just good finally getting to talk to them.”

As for Clemson, Bishop said he had some contact with defensive ends coach Chris Rumph, but nothing major at this point.

Bishop said he doesn’t have a favorite at this point of his recruiting. Some of his other offers include Georgia Tech, Coastal Carolina, James Madison, Ole Miss and others.

Last season, Bishop had 103 tackles with 16 sacks and 25 tackles for loss.
