In recruiting circles, QB Luke Gaither (6-4 175) of Radford, VA, had not been on South Carolina’s radar outside of the recruiting office. But he is now. Gaither, who camped with the Gamecocks on Thursday, was offered a walk-on opportunity with the Gamecocks, and he has accepted that offer.
Gaither had also drawn interest from Arkansas, Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State, Charlotte, Liberty, UNLV, Southern Miss, and others.
In his career, Gaither has passed for 3900 yards with 31 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. The Gamecocks have one scholarship commitment at quarterback in the 2027 class in Jerry Meyer III.
