STRecruiting: Clemson is on the hunt for not one, but two Foxes via the recruiting trail

In the process of recruiting highly touted LB Sean Fox (6-5 210) of Indianapolis, Clemson coaches also took a liking to his older brother, SAF Steven Fox (6-3 205) of Hocking JC, OH. The junior college prospect received an offer from Clemson defensive coordinator Tom Allen last month, and he took his official visit to Clemson during the Tigers’ major recruiting weekend at the end of May. He was joined by his brother Sean, marking the second visit to Clemson for the leash of Foxes. They were each in for a spring practice and recruiting event in early March.

“Man, it was really nice. We got to be in nature a lot,” Fox said in reviewing his official visit to Clemson. “We went kayaking. Me and my brother kayaked together and ate a lot of good food, man. They fed us really well. We stayed, we got to see the dorms and stuff. We got to see everything. It was really nice, man. It was; the campus is beautiful. It was a very good experience. My brother really liked it.”

Fox already had an idea as to what the Tigers like to do with their defense and secondary after watching spring practice. However, the official visit gave him a better gauge as to how his skill set might fit into Tom Allen’s scheme.

“So they said they would like me for more like the rover position, nickel position, because of my size and stuff,” Fox told SportsTalk. “How I can fill the running lanes and just be in the box and just blitzing stuff off the edge and cover.”

Of course, it wouldn’t be an official visit without an opportunity to tour the football facilities. An expedition that impressed Fox.

“Yeah, the facilities are top of the line, man, as expected,” he explained. “And I feel like the Paw Journey stuff that they talked about a lot was really good about the after football stuff and how they go on like abroad trips and help you after school and things like that.”

Clemson is the first P4 offer for Fox, so he has a good feeling toward the Tigers at this point, though he has another year to go in junior college.

“I’m really happy about it,” he exclaimed. “I really love the culture they’ve got going on there and how they’ve been winning for a long time. It’s great. I really love them.”

While thrilled over the offer, Fox said he’s not rushing his recruiting because he has another season of junior college ball left. He is eager to explore the potential offers that may come in over time. He is eligible to sign and transfer in December.

Fox plans to visit Kentucky this weekend. The Wildcats and Tigers are in his current “Top Five,” along with Louisville, Notre Dame, and Indiana.

Last season, Fox had 48 tackles with eight tackles for loss, nine pass deflections, and two interceptions.
