After a lengthy college career as a quarterback for multiple teams, including the South Carolina Gamecocks, Jake Bentley is furthering his passion for football by taking on the role of head coach at Nation Ford High School.
This move comes after Bentley has had assistant coaching stops Florida Atlantic, North Alabama and Rock Hill High School.
Bentley ranks fourth in career passing yards at USC. He is one of eight Gamecocks to toss five touchdowns in a single game.
Many sports fans placed bets on Bentley using one of the sites listed on SportsCasting. These sites allow fans to place bets on their favorite NFL teams, with many betting options available – from spread betting to moneyline bets.
From there his coaching journey has seen him take the positions of quarterback coach for the North Alabama Lions, and co-offensive coordinator at Rock Hill High School.
In his new role in Fort Mill, Bentley will be working to rebuild Nation Ford. The Falcons have not had a winning season since 2016. The school hopes that the work of Bentley will help turn the tides for the team and bring them some success. In his opening speech, Bentley said, “‘Fort Mill is a sleeping giant, and it’s time to wake it up.”
In his speech in the school’s auditorium, Bentley spoke to students, teachers, and parents, discussing a vision for the future and told of his father’s phrase ‘pulling the rope.’ An encouraging message to the players letting them know that they have to work as a team and pull in the same direction to achieve their goals.
In an interview, Nation Ford’s athletic director Byran Dillon said, “We truly believe that Jake is the right person to lead the program.” They have noted the passion that Bentley exudes and are excited for him to meet the team and help them to become the best they can be.
It’s no surprise that Bentley is drawn to coaching, as the career is in his blood. His father, Bobby Bentley, won four consecutive state championships at Byrnes.
Bentley is thrilled to have landed his first head coach position and is ecstatic that it’s in Fort Mill. He has spoken about his passion for the community and how he is excited to become a part of it.
