Dabo Swinney addressed the media following the Tigers’ practice, Wednesday, and shared some devastating news, confirming reports that senior offensive lineman Trent Howard has suffered a torn ACL.
“My heart breaks for Trent. He’s just one of the best kids we have on this team. So committed, he’s a great teammate,” Swinney said. “You know, he’s saved us two years in a row. That kid has really been there when we’ve needed him.”
With Howard added to the list of linemen on the shelf, Swinney is hoping tackle Tristan Leigh and Marcus Tate will be ready for action, Saturday, “They’ve been able to practice a little bit. Hopefully, they’ll keep improving.”
Linebacker Wade Woodaz is “getting better,” according to Swinney, and hopes he’s “ready to roll,” Saturday. Swinney also shared some good news, declaring safety RJ Mickens “good to go” after fully participating in practice.
