



USC 8-Davidson 6 Game Summary
Founders Park
- South Carolina extended its winning streak to four games, second longest winning streak of the season. The Gamecocks also got back to the .500 mark at 19-19.
- Talmadge LeCroy led the offense with three hits, including a homer. Will Craddock and KJ Scobey also homered.
- Logan Prisco earned the win in relief, walking one and striking out five in 2.1 innings. Cooper Parks worked the ninth and earned his first save.
- Davidson scored a run in the top of the first, and the Gamecocks responded with five in the bottom of the inning with three home runs. Craddock had a solo shot, and LeCroy and Scobey each had a two-run blast.
- The Wildcats tied the game in the second inning with a three run homer and a solo shot off of Gamecock starter Riley Goodman. Josh Gregoire replaced Goodman and struck out the side around a walk and a single.
- A solo homer in the fourth gave the Wildcats a 6-5 lead, but the Gamecocks responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good. With one out and runners on second and third, Tyler Bak singled to short to score one run and put runners on the corners. LeCroy followed with a single to third to score the second run of the inning for a 7-6 lead. LeCroy was then thrown out on a double steal attempt, and Dawson Harman struck out to end the inning.
- Prisco replaced Gregoire in the fourth and retired seven of the eight batters he faced, allowing just a single walk. Meantime, the Gamecocks added an insurance run in the fifth. With one out and runners on second and third, Luke Yuhasz hit a ground ball to second that scored the final run of the game.
- Josh Gunther started the seventh inning on the mound for USC, and after getting the first two outs, he walked two batters and yielded a bunt single back to the mound to load the bases. Parker Marlatt was summoned from the bullpen, and he extinguished the threat with a pop out to third in foul ground,
- The Gamecocks left runners at second and third in the bottom of the eighth. In the top of the ninth, Cooper Parks replaced Marlatt, and after a strike out to open the inning, he gave up a walk and a single. But a fly ball to center, and a fielder’s choice to short, with the out at third, ended the game.
- USC continues its homestand on Friday night with the first of a three game SEC series against Mississippi State.
