Clemson’s priorities for next year’s cycle are beginning to come into focus. And one area of interest is the offensive line, where Matt Luke isn’t wasting any time building relationships.
Offensive tackle Kweli Fielder (6-4, 310) of Carrollton (GA) returned to campus recently to check out spring practice, and Clemson continues to be a school making a considerable push early in his recruitment.
Fielder, who is considered to be one of the top prospects in the 2028 class, has already seen a fair share of top programs intensify their pursuit as the summer creeps closer into the picture.
USC, LSU, Florida, Auburn, Miami, Nebraska, Georgia, Alabama, and Colorado are just a few of the many programs that have already extended offers to the Carrollton standout. Recently, Fielder won MVP honors at Carrollton’s Under Armour Next Camp and continues to see the fruits of his labor paying off immensely.
“Since the last time I was on campus, the relationship with Clemson has definitely grown,” Fielder said. “The communication has been consistent, and I can feel how genuine they are about building something with me.”
One of the highlights of his trip was seeing Chad Morris’ offense up close and personal. Morris wants the Tigers to be physical at the line of scrimmage, and that’s something Fielder picked up on immediately.
“Getting a chance to see Coach Chad Morris was great,” Fielder explained. “I feel like I’d fit well in the offense, especially with how they want to establish the run and stay physical up front. He’s a high-energy coach who really knows how to get the best out of his players.”
Clemson won’t begin offering players in his class until the summer, but it would be hard to imagine that the wait will be long when June arrives.
“An offer from Clemson would mean a lot,” he gushed. “It’s a top program, so that would definitely be something special for me.”
Fielder has visited Florida, Tennessee, and other programs this spring, and he plans to be very diligent with the recruiting process, especially given the close attention he’s received so far.
Clemson will be a factor in his recruitment for the foreseeable future, and while a return date hasn’t been finalized, Clemson is a program that Fielder wants to give a long look.
“I definitely plan on getting back to campus soon,” Fielder confirmed. “I want to continue building that relationship and spend more time around the staff and program.”
