#Gamecocks earn a split in Fort Myers Tip Off with 70-60 win over Virginia Tech (AUDIO)

Morris Ugusuk hit a team high four three-pointers in the win over Virginia Tech (Gamecock Athletics)

Collin Murray-Boyles scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and Morris Ugusuk hit four of the Gamecocks 11 three-pointers in a 70-60 win over Virginia Tech for third place in the Fort Myers Tip Off. The Gamecocks lost to Xavier Monday night.

The Gamecocks launched a season high 32 three-point attempts. They finished with a 44% shooting night from the floor, and they were 13-21 from the line.

USC went on an 8-0 run to build a 18-9 lead midway through the first half. They led by eight at the half with Ugusuk hitting three of his three pointers.

The Gamecocks led the entire second half. The Hokies closed to within four points with 5:31 to play. The Gamecocks scored the next five points for a 62-53 lead and the Hokies never got closer than seven points the rest of the way.

Zack Davis added 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench as the Gamecocks scored a season high 32 points off the bench.

USC improved to 4-3 and will play at Boston College on December 3rd in the ACC-SEC Challenge.
