- USC snapped a three game losing streak with the win over the Blue Hose and improved to 52-21 in the series with PC.
- The Blue Hose to an early 2-0 with a two run homer in the top of the first by Matthew Rollison.
- The Gamecocks got a run back in the bottom of the first with an RBI groundout to first by Dawson Harman that scored Patrick Evans from third.
- USC tied the game in the bottom of the second with Logan Sutter leading off with a double and later scoring on a wild pitch.
- A two-out, two-run homer by KJ Scobey in the bottom of the third put the Gamecocks on top 4-2.
- Luke Yuhasz led off the bottom of the fourth with a home run for a 5-2 Gamecock lead.
- USC blew the game open in the bottom of the fifth with three runs on a RBI singly by Sutter, a RBI double by Ethan Lizama and a RBI double by Yuhasz.
- PC scored its final run in the sixth on a two-out wild pitch that scored a runner from third.
- Lizama hit a two-out, solo homer in the seventh to account for the final score of 9-3.
- After giving up the two runs in the top of the first, Patrick Dudley was replaced by Connor Chicoli. He went the next four innings allowing no runs on two hits and striking out four to picked up his second win of the season against two losses.
- Five other relievers finished up allowing one run on on one hit while striking out seven.
- Lizama and Yuhasz each had two hits and two RBIs, and Sutter also had two hits as the Gamecocks hit .294 as a team, well above their season average.
- USC is now 20-22 and will host Kentucky this weekend. Presbyterian is 9-33.
