Brad Brownell got a nice recruit on Monday, and he didn’t have to leave the basketball building. Rising senior forward Carter Welling announced on his Instagram page Monday afternoon that he is returning to the Tigers for the upcoming season.

Welling is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in Clemson’s win over Wake Forest during the ACC tournament. And there is no clear timeline for his possible return. Prior to his injury, the transfer from Utah Valley was averaging ten points and five rebounds per game on 49% shooting from the field. He played in 32 games, making 24 starts, for Clemson this past season.
The last date to enter the transfer portal is on Tuesday.
