Sunday conference call: Swinney says Florida State should forfeit for Saturday’s cancellation, doesn’t believe Covid was real reason, won’t commit to going back to Tallahassee (AUDIO) #Clemson

Dabo Swinney is none too happy with the administration at Florida State Walt Unks/Winston-Salem Journal)

A highly agitated Clemson coach Dabo Swinney talked with the media Sunday night for the first time about the cancellation of Saturday afternoon’s game at Florida State because one Clemson player who traveled with the team had tested positive on Friday. Swinney questioned if that one test was the real reason Florida State officials did not want to play the game and said the Seminoles should be forced to forfeit. He said Clemson has followed all protocols set down by the league and it was understood by all that a positive test on a Friday was not enough to cancel a game. He said Clemson met all the standards for the game to be played. Swinney also did not commit to returning to Tallahassee if the ACC reschedules the game for there, though that’s a decision left to athletics director Dan Radakovich. The Tigers will not turn their attention to this Saturday’s game with Pitt which will have a 3:30 kickoff on ESPN.

  1. Dabo tell it like it is; FSU owes a better explanation.
Florida st did not want to get their rear ends spanked by Clemson.
FsU get your frikin act together you pathetic admin.

  2. If the rules allow a game to be played, then you play the game. If those rules are not good enough, then change them and make them better. Otherwise, play the damn game or just cancel the season…don’t use the pandemic as an excuse to keep from taking a beating!!! FSU enjoyed their time as a dominant team in the past. It’s a terrible look to hide from beatdowns at this time. Put that baby down (baby body shield), and stop hiding behind lil old ladies and play some football.

Your dreaming, wake up! Clemson, Florida and North Carolina has been and will be taking all your possible commitments for a long time. Florida St. used to be a power house that I liked until they let their best coach go. Sad!
