STRecruiting: South Carolina gets a man for the middle in 6-10 free agent Aleksas Bieliauskas of Wisconsin

South Carolina basketball coach Lamont Paris, a former assistant coach at Wisconsin, went into his former backyard to land a big man for his program. According to Jonathan Giovny of DraftExpress, 6-10 Aleksas Bieliauskas of Wisconsin has agreed to contract terms with the Gamecocks. The native of Lithuania averaged five points and over four rebounds per game as a freshman this season. He was second on the team with 21 blocks. In conference play, he made 37% of his three point shots. Overall, he shot 43% from the floor, 35% from three and 63% from the line. He is the Gamecocks’ third free agent acquisition this month.

2024-25 (NKL LITHUANIA)
Played for Zalgiris II in the Lithuanian NKL … Averaged 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while shooting 39.3 percent from 3-point range in 45 games … Made three appearances for Zalgiris in Lithuanian’s top league, the LKL.

INTERNATIONAL
Led Lithuania to silver at the 2025 Under-20 Eurobasket tournament … averaged 12.4 points per game, while his 8.3 rebounds were the second-best mark of any player in the tournament … posted a double-double (17 points 12 rebounds) in the championship game against Italy.
