STRecruiting: Clemson grabs one of the best free agents out of the SOCON in 6-9 Dylan Faulkner

Clemson basketball coach Brad Brownell picked up his second free agent commitment/signing on Friday in 6-9 Dylan Faulkner from Samford. Faulkner began his career at Lipscomb and followed Lennie Acuff when he moved from Nashville to Birmingham to become the head coach of the Bulldogs last season. Brownell recently hired Samford assistant head coach Tyler Murray as his new general manager.

Faulkner is a native of Calhoun, GA. This season he averaged 18 points and nearly 10 rebounds per game. He shot 62% from the floor (missed on all four three-point attempts), and 55% from the foul line. He earned First Team All-Southern Conference honors and First Team All-Defensive honors. He has one season of eligibility remaining.

Faulkner gives the Tigers five newcomers for the 2026-27 roster and a total of 12 at this point.

Previous School – Lipscomb (2023-25): Spent two seasons at Lipscomb where he appeared in 44 games and made 13 starts… Played in 15 games before suffering injury during his sophomore season… Was averaging 10.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game and shooting 61 percent from the field and had a team-high 25 blocks… Had a career-high 15 points against Austin Peay (1/13/24)… Scored 6.2 ppg as a freshman with the Bison and was named Atlantic Sun Newcomer of the Week once.

High School: Prepped at Calhoun HS and was All-State two times for head coach Venice Layson… All-time points (1,685), rebounds (1,012), and blocks (286) leader at Calhoun HS.
