STRecruiting Notebook 4-17: Clemson offers a Georgia tight end; USC basketball to host a free agent this weekend

Clemson offered TE Mason Hall (6-4 220) of Watkinsville, GA. Last season he had 45 catches for 653 yards and six touchdowns. He also plays defensive end. He has official visits set with Virginia, Duke, NC State, Cincinnati and Pitt. He also has offers from Texas, Texas Tech, Georgia State, Mississippi State, USF, UCF, Illinois, Memphis and Wisconsin.

Clemson target TE Tommy Douglas committed to Florida. He’s the second Clemson TE target to commit elsewhere this week after Grant Haviland committed to Vanderbilt.

South Carolina target DE KJ Green is visiting Oregon this weekend.

South Carolina target OL Jr. Saunders set an official visit to NC State for May 8th.

OL Owen Reilly of Bel Air, MD, who had an offer from South Carolina, committed to Penn State.

Former Clemson commitment SAF Seth Williams still has Tigers in his top six. The others are Vanderbilt, Penn State, Florida, Syracuse and Pitt.

Clemson target 2028 TE Lee Steele visited Auburn on Thursday.

2028 WR Dylen James of Kennesaw, GA received an invite to a Clemson camp this summer.

Irmo OT Nate Carson made a visit to Texas A&M earlier in the week. He’s also been to Clemson, South Carolina and Georgia, and plans to get to Tennessee, which he has called his favorite.

Basketball News:

John Whittle of TheBigSpur reported 6-5 free agent Shane Blakeney of Drexel and Rock Hill will visit South Carolina this weekend. He just visited Mississippi State and also has Texas Tech, Wake Forest and Oklahoma involvement. He averaged 14 points and 5 rebounds per game.

South Carolina women gained a commitment Thursday night from free agent guard 6-0 Jordan Lee of Texas. Lee visited the Gamecocks over the weekend. She averaged 13 points per game this season. In three games against USC this season she totaled 41 points, including 19 in a win in November. The native of Stockton, CA spent two seasons in Austin.

Guard Kymora Johnson is staying at Virginia. She was linked to South Carolina when she put her name in the portal.

South Carolina free agent target Cruz Davis of Hofstra committed to sign with Texas Tech.

Former South Carolina forward Abu Yarmah made a free agent commitment to Longwood.

Furman guard Tom House is going into free agency.

    1. They are free agents making transactional decisions, like any other professional athlete. They are not students transferring for academic or personal reasons. They have agents representing them selling them, for the most part, to the highest bidder. And they are free to move without limitations. Need I say more?
