Clemson 5-Bryant 3 Game Summary

  • Clemson built a 4-0 lead in the first three innings off of a Luke Gaffney two-run single in the first, and a Jacob Jarrell two-run homer in the third.
  • The Tigers took a 5-1 lead to the top of the 8th when the Bulldogs cored a pair of runs. Hayden Simmerson allowed a single and double to start the inning. A ground ball to second scored one run. Danny Nelson replaced Simmerson and yielded a triple to right to make it a 5-3 game. He then struck out the next two batters to end the threat.
  • Nelson retired the Bulldogs in order in the ninth to secure the win and his first save of the season.
  • Michael Sharman started for the Clemson and allowed two hits and one run over five innings for his second win of the season in as many decisions.
  • Jackson Purify had three hits to lead the Clemson offense.
  • Clemson is 6-0 and will go for the series sweep on Sunday afternoon with Talan Bell the scheduled starter.
