Texas A&M 92-USC 69 Game Summary
- South Carolina owned a seven point lead seven minutes into the game, then the Aggies started knocking down threes. They turned a 14-7 deficit into a 45-21 lead by making ten triples, including a stretch where they hit six out of seven shots, and they were all threes.
- The lead ballooned to 32 points seven and a half minutes into the second half. The Gamecocks cut that lead in half after a Kobe Knox three with 5:36 left, but 16 points would be as close as the Gamecocks would get. The Aggies scored the next eight points to squash any hopes of a rally.
- The Aggies were 17 of 39 from three with Zach Clemence coming off the bench and knocking down seven of them in eight attempts. He led the Aggies with 21 points.
- Meechie Johnson led all scorers with 26 points. Knox added 18 points. But Elijah Strong failed to score, going 0-8 from the floor, and Mike Sharavjamts managed just five points.
- The Gamecocks made nine three, ordinarily a total that would keep you in the game, but not with the opponent nearly doubles you in that category. The Gamecocks were also outscored 18-0 in fastbreak points.
- The Gamecocks are now 11-9 overall and 2-5 in the SEC and will host Florida on Wednesday night.
