#18 Clemson gets back on track with a strong second half in beating Georgia Tech 77-63 Saturday afternoon in Atlanta (AUDIO)

Clemson 77-Georgia Tech 63 Game Summary

  • After taking a two point lead at the half at 35-33, Clemson outscored Georgia Tech in the second half 42-30. The Tigers opened the second half with a 16-4 run for a 51-37 lead,
  • Clemson kept a double-digit spread until Tech got to within eight with 1:59 left at 71-63, but Clemson scored the final six points of the game. A three-pointer by Jestin Porter with 1:10 left sealed the win for Clemson. The Yellow Jackets were just 2-10 shooting over the final four minutes.
  • The Tigers hit 7-12 three pointers in the second half and shot 52% overall over the final 20 minutes, while Tech was held to 31% shooting.
  • Jake Wahlin led the Tigers second half surge with 11 points. He was 3-for-3 on triples.
  • Wahlin and Nick Davidson led the balanced Clemson attack with 13 points each. Dee Hunter and Ace Buckner had 12 points each. Wahlin also led Clemson in rebounding with eight.
  • Clemson has won 12 straight ACC road games, tied for fourth longest streak in ACC history.
  • The Tigers are 17-4 overall ane 7-1 in the ACC and will host Pitt next Saturday afternoon.
