STRecruiting: South Carolina adds journeyman free agent defensive tackle Tomiwa Durojaiye to January recruiting class, a player the Gamecocks recruited in high school

Tomiwa Durojaiye

Much-traveled DT Tomiwa Durojaiye (6-5 300) of Illinois will make South Carolina his fifth collegiate stop. Durojaiye announced his plans to join the Gamecocks on Saturday morning. The native of Philadelphia has also played college football for Kentucky, West Virginia, Florida State, and Illinois. Durojaiye was a teammate of former Gamecock quarterback Braden Davis, and he visited in the spring of 2021, and for an official visit that June. For the Illini in 2025, he appeared in 11 games with eight starts, and totaled 16 tackles with 4.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. He earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors. Durojaiye is the 12th pickup for the Gamecocks out of the Portal and the second defensive tackle.
