STRecruiting: South Carolina taps into the talent-rich Pittsburgh area for wide receiver Javien Robinson

Commitments continue to roll in this month for South Carolina. Tuesday, WR Javien Robinson (6-2 196) of McKeesport, PA announced for the Gamecocks over his other finalists Rutgers and Syracuse.

He’s the third commitment of the month for USC, with a fourth pending on Friday when RB Brandon Tyson is scheduled to go public.

Robinson made the announcement on his 17th birthday, which coincides with the birthday of his future position coach with the Gamecocks, Mike Furrey.

Robinson made an unofficial visit to USC on April 9th and is scheduled for an official visit on June 5th. . He also has offers from USF, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Penn State, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Pitt, and others.

Robinson landed his offer from USC receivers coach Mike Furrey on February 10th, and it was after his visit in April that he began to take a serious look at the Gamecocks. He is regarded as one of the top playmakers in his part of Pennsylvania, and one of the overall top recruits in the state for the 2027 class.

Robinson is the eighth commitment for the Gamecocks’ 2027 class, and the second wide receiver.
