STRecruiting: Clemson stays within the family for latest commitment in SAF Harrison Luke

Harrison Luke

Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney has never been shy about having the sons of his assistant coaches or staff members play for him. For that matter, all of his sons have come through the program. Tuesday night, SAF Harrison Luke (6-0 185) of Bogart, GA announced a commitment to the Tigers. He’s the son of Clemson offensive line coach Matt Luke.

Harrison Luke was among the many recruiters to visit Clemson Saturday night for the LSU game. He has, of course, spent a lot of time around the program and has also competed at the Swinney camps.

Luke was among the first of the 2027 class to get a verbal offer from the Tigers on June 1st. Georgia, Ole Miss, Auburn and Tennessee were some of the others to offer him this summer. His dad is an Ole Miss grad and former head coach, and he also coached at Georgia.

Luke missed most of his sophomore season with a foot injury, so his recruitment did not pick up until this summer when recruiters had the chance to see him perform in camps. Georgia Southern and Western Kentucky were two other offers for him.

Luke is the fourth commitment for Clemson for the 2027 class. Three are from the state of Georgia. The other, Daniel CB Christian Chancellor Jr., is the son of a former Clemson cornerback who is now a member of the Clemson Police Department.
