STRecruiting: Clemson adds to defensive line haul with commitment from DT Keshawn Stancil

Keshawn Stancil

Clemson scored its second commitment for the interior of the defensive line of the 2026 recruiting class Saturday in DT Keshawn Stancil (6-3 260) of Clayton, NC. He chose the Tigers over his other finalists of NC State, Penn State, Georgia and Miami. He made official visits to all the schools.

However, his Clemson official visit took place in mid-June and not the Tigers’ primary recruiting weekend the first of the month. That allowed the Clemson coaches to put their full attention on Stancil after being one of the last of his top five to offer on May 27th.

Notwithstanding the late offer, Clemson defensive tackles coach Nick Eason had been recruiting Stancil for months before that and the two developed a strong relationship. He also visited Clemson for their junior day on March 8th. Over the last few weeks, Clemson became a strong favorite notably holding off a strong push from NC State down the stretch.

Last season Stancil totaled 63 tackles with 22 tackles for loss and nine sacks. He had 39 tackles and five sacks as a sophomore. He also throws the shot put for his high school track team.

Stancil gives the Tigers 20 commitments for their 2026 class, and he’s the third from the Tar Heel state.
