Upward movement for Clemson men and South Carolina women in the new AP Top 25 rankings

Clemson broke into the top ten of the AP Men’s Basketball Top 25 released Monday afternoon. The Tigers moved up one spot to #10. It’s the first time Clemson has cracked the AP Top 10 since 2009. The Tigers totaled 949 points with one voter ranking them as high as 4th and two placing them as low as #16. The state’s AP Voter Scott Hamilton of the Post and Courier had Clemson 10th on his ballot.

The South Carolina Women, coming off their SEC Tournament Championship, moved up three spots to #2 this week trailing only UCLA, one of the three teams to defeat them this season. The Gamecocks received nine firt place votes to 16 for the Bruins. USC totaled 762 points, 12 back of the Bruins.
