#STRecruiting: An update on WR Jackson Repp #Gamecocks

For being such a fast wide receiver, Jackson Repp (5-8 160) of Christ Church is not in a hurry to make a college commitment. He’s got an offer from South Carolina, and he’s still talking with Clemson and others, and his plan is to visit the Gamecocks early in the season and go from there.

USC head coach Shane Beamer and receivers coach Mike Furrey have been on Repp ever since he turned in a sub 4.3 forty in front of them at the camp in late July.

“I’m talking to the coaches a lot, talking to Coach Beamer, talking to Coach Furrey, and I’m looking forward to getting up there sometime soon,” Repp said.  :”I haven’t set anything in stone yet, but I think I’ll be going up there for the LSU game.  If everything works out scheduling and all that, I’ll probably do my official visit then.  As of right now, I don’t have a visit scheduled, but I’m looking to get on campus as soon as possible.”

Beamer and Furrey have made it clear to Repp their desire to have him in the program, and he understands that. He’s also feeling no pressure from the coaches to make a quick decision since they offered less than a month ago.

“Both of them have said whenever I’m ready to commit, they want me at South Carolina.  If I’m ready, they want me there,” Repp said. “I’m not trying to rush it.  I know I have a great opportunity and if I would like to jump on it right now, I’d be in a great spot.  I want to make sure that all my family members have met the coaches.  I want to make sure I’m a hundred percent sure. There’s no rush for my commitment.”

Repp said its very important he takes another visit to USC before finalizing any plans.

“My dad has been with me a couple of times up at South Carolina but my mom has actually never been,” he said.  “I want to make sure the family is treated right, want to make sure I’m feeling everything’s right.  If everything is feeling right, it’s a great opportunity so we’ll see what happens.”

As for Clemson, Repp said he still hears from receivers coach Tyler Grisham, but he has not offered him. However, he is planning to visit Clemson September 7th for the Appalachian State game.

Boston College was the other Power Four offer for Repp, but he said the Eagles have filled up at the receiver position and are no longer in pursuit.
