South Carolina offensive line coaches Randy Clements and Jason Smith have been recruiting OL Jaxon Elston (6-5 308) of Oxford, AL, and their work has gotten the Gamecocks into his final three. Elson said he is down to USC, Arkansas and Georgia Tech with a commitment date set for June 20th.

“Me and everybody on the South Carolina staff have a good relationship,” Elston said.  “We just build it every single day leading up to my OV.  I know it’s going to be real nice down there.”

Elston, who visited USC for a spring practice on March 21st, should get a big reception from Clements, Smith and head coach Shane Beamer on his official visit on June 5th. All three have been communicating with him, and Clements and Smith were out to see him last week.

“They’re just telling me how good I would fit in at South Carolina,” Elston said.  “If I were to come down there, they would develop me and get me in there as early as possible, get me as much experience as I can as early as possible.  That’s stuff I like to hear.”

Elston also has official visits set with his other two finalists. He will go to Arkansas on May 29th and to Georgia Tech June 12th, then make his commitment announcement the following weekend.

There is no favorite for Elston going into his OVs.

“I’m just trying to even out everybody right now, just think about all my options,” Elston said.  “By the time I go on all my OVs, I’ll probably be set by then on where I want to make my decision to go.”

Elston has also had offers from Georgia, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Florida State, West Virginia, Auburn and Purdue.
