South Carolina is on the board again for the 2026 recruiting class with a commitment from LB Keenan Britt (6-2 230) of Oxford, AL. He chose the Gamecocks on Saturday evening over Auburn, Oregon, Arkansas and Ole Miss.
Britt made an unofficial visit to USC in the final week of July. Defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Clayton White had already positioned the Gamecocks in a strong place with Britt prior to that visit. What he saw that day and heard from the coaches convinced him to come on board.
“The plan they will have for me when I get in, I’ll be a hybrid,” Britt said after the visit. “First and second down I’ll be in the box. They run a 3-3-5 but they base out of a 4-2-5, so in the 3-3-5 I’ll play the will backer. Coach (Darren) Uscher (Director of Player Personnel) and everybody had love for my family and me, and the plan just sounds good to me.”
Last season Britt made 110 tackles with 10 sacks and 20 tackles for loss. He can also play as an edge rusher.
Britt is the third commitment for the Gamecocks 2026 class and the second listed as a linebacker.
