#Gamecocks coach Mark Kingston reviews Tuesday’s 7-1 win over Winthrop (AUDIO)

The Gamecocks put seven runs on the board against Winthrop Tuesday (South Carolina Athletics)

Andrew Eyster continued his hot start at the plate with three hits and two RBI as USC defeated Winthrop 7-1 Tuesday afternoon at Founders Park. It was the Gamecocks seventh straight win over the Eagles. The Gamecocks had 11 hits, drew six walks and were hit twice, but they left 14 on base.

Keven Madden homered for one of his two hits. Colin Burgess and Michael Braswell also had a pair of hits. Starter Cade Austin pitched four innings in a predetermined pitch count and earned the win. Three relievers combined to shut out the Eagles over the final five innings.

The Gamecocks improved to 3-1 and will open a three-game series against George Washington on Friday afternoon.
