#STRecruiting Notebook 1-28

This is the final recruiting weekend for the 2022 class, and the last live recruiting weekend until March. Clemson and USC will use the weekend to host more prospects. The Tigers are scheduled for official visits from LB TJ Dudley of Montgomery, AL and RB Keith Adams Jr. of St. George, UT. Dudley is a former Oregon commitment. His teammate, SAF Kylon Griffin visited Clemson last weekend and committed earlier this week. Adams is the son of the former Clemson star linebacker who has held a grayshirt offer from the Tigers since last summer.

The Tigers also are expecting a nice turnout of 2023 prospects who are high up on their board. Some who have publicized plans to visit are LB Grayson Howard of Jacksonville, OT Luke Montgomery of Findlay, OH, SAF Dakaari Nelson of Selma, AL, DT Keith Sampson of New Bern, NC, WR Tyler Williams of Lakeland, FL, DE Peter Woods of Alabaster, AL, QB Christopher Vizzina of Birmingham and OT Sam Pendleton of Pfafftown, NC. Howard, Sampson and Pendleton are also USC targets.

The Gamecocks have one official visit on the docket and that’s transfer WR Malik Heath according to TheBigSpur. Heath played the last two seasons at Mississippi State and caught 71 passes. Heath was in junior college before going to Mississippi State and actually made an official visit to USC while in junior college.

Also scheduled for officials this weekend are two December signees, QB Tanner Bailey and SAF Nick Emmanwori. At one point the Gamecocks were working to get LB EJ Lightsey of Fitzgerald, GA in for an official visit this weekend, but he visited Georgia last weekend and appears set to sign with the Bulldogs next week.

Daniel DE Jahiem Lawson plans to announce his college commitment Friday after postponing the announcement from earlier in the week. Clemson was his only official visit this week and he’s expected to follow the path of his brother Shaq Lawson to Clemson.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney and assistants made an in-home visit with DT Caden Story of Lanett, AL Thursday night. Story is deciding between Clemson, Florida and Auburn. He visited Clemson last weekend and will visit Florida this weekend. He’s a former Auburn commitment and will announce his decision on Wednesday morning.

Clemson target SAF Braxton Myers was offered by Arkansas, Arizona State and Jackson State.

USC and Clemson target SAF Dakaari Nelson of Selma, AL was offered by Missouri and NC State.

USC target CB Antonio Robinson of Miami was offered by Arkansas and Wake Forest.

USC target DT Jordan Hall of Jacksonville was offered by Mississippi State.

USC target OT Zechariah Owens of McDonough, GA was offered by LSU.

USC target CB Chris Peal of Charlotte was offered by Virgina Tech and West Virginia.

USC basketball target 6-3 Bryce Lindsay of Baltimore will make his college commitment Friday at 2:00 PM on his Instagram. He took official visits to USC, Pittsburgh and Oklahoma State.

TE/DE Gray Leaphart of Gilbert received a PWO offer from USC.

2022 QB Caleb Nix of Phenix City, AL is headed to Clemson as a PWO.

Laurens WR Michael Mankaka is headed to Clemson as a PWO.

Clemson target RB Andrew Paul of Dallas will announce his decision Wednesday at 12:20 PM Eastern.

Camden DT Xzavier McLeod was offered by Oklahoma.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney in Montgomery, AL today, has a visit set with DT Cade Story tonight and will take in his basketball game.

USC coach Shane Beamer in New Bern, NC today for DT Keith Sampson.

Woodland DB Kendrick Clark committed to North Greenville.
