



Queens 9-South Carolina 8 Game Summary
- The Royals jumped out to an early lead in the second, scoring three runs in the frame off two RBI singles. The Gamecocks responded in the bottom of the inning with an RBI single from Beau Hollins to score Ethan Lizama.
- A three-run home run in the third and a bases-loaded single in the fourth made it 7-1 Royals. Hollins’ second RBI single of the night in the bottom of the frame brought KJ Scobey home. Lizama added a run on a groundout to make it 7-3.
- Aaron Jamison’s first home run as a Gamecock came in the seventh. The Royals would bring one more home in the eighth on an RBI single for a 9-5 lead.
- The Gamecocks mounted a comeback in the ninth off a double from Lizama, sac fly from Hollins and two-run home run from Tyler Bak but came up a run short. The loss went to Connor Chicoli who gave up five hits, three runs and struck out two in two innings of work.
- Hollins drove in three runs while Bak was 3-for-5 with two RBI.
- Will Craddock reached base four times tonight and is now hitting .500 on the season.
- Hudson Lee pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief.
- The victory was the first ever for Queens against a Power-4 opponent in 18 games.
- USC is 6-3 and will open the three-game weekend series with Clemson Friday night at Founders Park.
It’ll be interesting to see if Paw Paw and the Gamecocks will be able to avoid a sweep against the rival Tigers this weekend. I certainly wouldn’t bet against it☺ Donati may have to replace at least 2 major HC in men’s sports in 2026, which could turn out to be as bad if not worse overall than 2025 for the 3 big men’s sports at South Carolina. Mainieri & Paris are setting new losing bars that for sure, ones that hopefully won’t be matched again. It won’t be too hard for a new coach to improve on eithers morbid programs.
