



#15-Clemson 9 — Bryant 3 (Game Summary)
- It was a close game until it wasn’t. Clemson broke a 3-3 tie with six runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to pick up the victory
- Aidan Knaak started on the mound for Clemson and was terrific. The RHP worked five innings, allowing 1 unearned run on just one base hit with eight strikeouts and two walks in earning a no decision
- After the Bulldogs grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the second, Clemson rallied back with three runs in the bottom of the frame. Luke Gaffney got the Tigers started with a solo HR to tie the game before Jacob Jarrell hit a 2-run bomb to give the home team a 3-1 advantage
- Knaak took over from there, keeping the Bulldogs off the scoreboard by striking out the side in the 3rd and not allowing a ball out of the infield over his remaining innings
- In the seventh inning, the Bulldogs scored two more unearned runs after a Tiger error, including the latter with two outs when Hunter Kingsbury stole home, to tie the score 3-3
- The Tigers regained the lead in the eighth inning on a bases-loaded walk by pinch-hitter Jason Fultz Jr. Two batters later, Tryston McCladdie grounded a two-run single, then Gaffney walked to bring home a run. Ty Dalley added a sacrifice fly, and Jack Crighton grounded a two-out, run-scoring single to close out the scoring
- Joe Allen pitched one inning of relief to pick up his second win of the season
- Clemson (5-0) will host Bryant in game two of the series tomorrow at 2pm
