



#15-Clemson 11 — Charlotte 1 (F/7 Innings)
- Jacob Jarrell’s first-inning grand slam fueled Clemson’s 10-run outburst in the first three innings to put the 49ers away. It was Jarrell’s second home run of the season and his fourth career grand slam
- With runners at first and third and one out in the bottom of the first, Luke Gaffney reached on the first of two Charlotte errors. That play loaded the bases for Jarrell’s grand slam, with all five of Clemson’s runs in the opening frame being unearned
- Tryston McCladdie and Nate Savoie each homered, as Clemson hit three home runs and recorded two doubles as part of its eight-hit attack
- Spencer Nolan’s leadoff homer in the seventh inning ended Clemson’s scoreless innings pitched streak at 25
- Freshman righthander Eston Simpson (1-0) earned the win by tossing 4.0 innings, allowing two hits, no runs, and two walks with one strikeout
- The two teams conclude their season series at Truist Field in Charlotte on April 14
- Clemson continues its homestand by hosting Bryant in a three-game series at Doug Kingsmore Stadium, beginning Friday at 4 p.m.
