STRecruiting: Oceanside Collegiate WR Jaiden Kelly-Murray getting a lot of South Carolina attention, but has others on his mind as well

Jaiden-Kelly Murray

WR Jaiden Kelly-Murray (5-10 170) will have a new home for the 2026 football season. After two huge seasons at Summerville, Kelly-Murray has transferred to Oceanside Collegiate for his senior season.

That’s a big loss for the Green Wave and a huge addition for the Landsharks.

As a sophomore, Kelly-Murray had 82 catches for 1208 yards. Last season, he totaled 72 catches for 1072 yards and 16 touchdowns. He has established himself as the top receiver in South Carolina for the 2027 recruiting season.

South Carolina receivers coach Mike Furrey is treating him accordingly, putting a lot of time and effort into making sure the Gamecocks get their full shot at him. Kelly-Murray said the Gamecocks have been on him ever since he camped there in the eighth grade. He’s visited numerous times for spring practices and games.

“It’s going good.  The relationship is good,” Kelly-Murray said.  “They are recruiting me hard since I’m a South Carolina kid.  It’s only right for them to recruit me hard coming out of South Carolina. I’m number one on his board as a receiver coming out of 2027. It just shows a lot because he talks to me every day, he calls every day, and checks up on me every day.”

Furrey, of course, with his NFL background, knows a thing or two about what it takes to be a high-level slot receiver. He’s told Kelly-Murray about some of those qualities he sees in him.

“He always says my catch radius,” Kelly-Murray said. “He talks about my speed a lot.  He’s a big weight room guy, so when he saw my blocking film, he liked it.”

Kelly-Murray has set one official visit, and that’s to USC on June 19th. He is also looking at Duke, Virginia Tech, Illinois, and Wake Forest for possible official visits. His only January visit was to Wake Forest.

This spring he plans to take in practices at USC, Michigan State, Alabama, Florida, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, and Duke.

Kelly-Murray said right now there is no favorite for him, and he plans to commit in June or July and sign in December so he can enroll in January.
