STRecruiting Notebook 1-22: South Carolina QB target scheduled to visit this weekend; Briles offers more quarterbacks; Transfer LB looking at Clemson

Rivals reports QB Jerry Meyer III will visit South Carolina on Sunday. He visited Mississippi State last week and also plans to visit Arkansas. He committed to TCU when Kendal Briles was his recruiter there.

South Carolina offered 2029 QB Christian Cypher (6-3 195) of Carrollton, GA. Last season he passed for 2178 yards with 26 touchdowns and three interceptions. He’s also been offered by USF, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Florida, Georgia Tech, Georgia, SMU, Miami, Pitt, Florida State and others.

South Carolina offered QB Ty Knutson (6-4 209) of Spring Branch, TX. New Gamecock quarterback coach Kendal Briles first offered Knutson last summer after him in camp at TCU. Texas offered him last week. He also has offers from Oklahoma State, Houston, Texas Tech, Tulane and FAU.

South Carolina offered, for a second time with a new OC/QB coach, QB Jayce Johnson (6-4 210) of Valdosta, GA , who is committed to Texas A&M. Johnson had the Gamecocks in his final five when he committed to the Aggies on August 3rd. He also had on that short list Tennessee, Florida State and Ole Miss. Last season Johnson passed for 1182 yards with 11 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also rushed for 658 yards and 14 touchdowns.

South Carolina offered 2028 QB Kaden Craft (6-4 205) of Lake Norman, NC. He visited for a game last season. Last season he passed for 1729 yards with with 30 touchdowns and four interceptions. He completed 60% of his passes. He also rushed for 387 yards. Clemson also is interested and he visited last season. He also has offers from Virginia Tech, Auburn, NC State, Florida State, Duke and North Carolina.

South Carolina offered 2028 DB Langston Pridgeon (6-2 175) of Ashburn, VA. Clemson is also showing interest. Last season he had 73 tackles with 10 pass break ups and one interception. He also has offers from Some of his other offers are Georgia, Virginia, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Boston College and Maryland.

South Carolina offered DB Kaleb Woseley (6-0 180) of Philadelphia. He was 6A All-State in Pennsylvania last season. He also has offers from West Virginia, Duke, Florida State, Maryland and Penn State, which was his first D1 offer.

South Carolina offered WR Brawley Tuitupou (6-4 175) of Orem, UT. Other offers include Duke, Cincinnati, Florida, Houston, South Florida, Missouri, Michigan State, Kentucky, Purdue, Iowa, West Virginia, NC State and Marland.

South Carolina offered RB SaRod Baker (5-11 195) of DeSoto, TX. In 15 games last season, Baker rushed for 3081 yards and 41 touchdowns. He averaged 205 rushing yards per game. He also played some quarterback and passed for 498 yards and four touchdowns. And he caught 18 passes for 242 yards and two scores. He caught 43 passes as a sophomore. He also has offers from Missouri, Florida, Michigan, Florida State, Texas, Oregon, Colorado, Ohio State, Iowa, Texas Tech, Kansas, SMU, TCU and others.

South Carolina offered OL Ismael Camara (6-4 340) of Gilmer, TX. His offers also include Tennessee, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Georgia, Auburn, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Arizona State, Purdue, North Carolina, Florida State, Michigan, Illinois, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, SMU, TCU, Texas A&M and others.

South Carolina recently offered long snapper Matthew Oh of Buford, GA. He camped at USC last summer and won multiple awards, and is highly rated by Kohls. He also has an offers from Duke, SMU and others.

Clemson and South Carolina offered LB Noah Glover (6-2 205) of Haymarket, VA. Clemson linebackers coach Ben Boulware was in for a visit on Wednesday. Glover had 73 tackles and five sacks last season. He also has offers from Texas, Penn State, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Auburn, Oregon, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Alabama and others.

South Carolina offered 2028 DB Kaden Golston (6-2 190) of Ashburn, VA.This season he had 84 tackles with one interception and ten pass break ups. He also has offers from Virginia, Duke, Rutgers, Syracuse, Maryland and Virginia Tech.

South Carolina offered WR Tre Moore (6-3 200) of Pflugerville, TX. He also has offers from North Carolina, Illinois, Arkansas, Penn State, Kansas State, Michgan and others. Last season he had 85 catches for 1443 yards and 19 touchdowns.

Clemson offered DE Griff Galloway (6-4 240) of Charlotte. He’s the son of Tigers’ analyst Lonnie Galloway. South Carolina also offered him last April. Last season he totaled 66 tackles with 13 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks. He has 234 career tackles with 42 tackles for loss and 25 sacks. He also has offers from Louisville, SMU, Michigan, Nebraska, LSU, Auburn, Missouri, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Indiana, Georgia, Florida, Penn State, Tennessee, Duke and others.

Penn graduate LB Ryan O’Connell (6-2 225) was offered an walk-on opportunity by Clemson. In three seasons he had 43 tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss and two sacks. He plans to visit Clemson next Thursday. He has a PWO offer from the Tigers. He’s also looking at Auburn, Northwestern and Minnesota among others. He graduates from Penn in May and will join his new school after that.

Former Coastal Carolina and NC State QB MJ Morris is headed to Texas.

South Carolina target LB AJ Randle was offered by Oregon.

Former Clemson LB Luke Ferrelli has re-entered the Portal with expectations that he will head to Ole Miss.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney and OL coach Matt Luke visited OL Maxwell Hiller on Wednesday.

South Carolina DC and LB coach Clayton White visited LB Mikahi Allen of Ramsey, NJ on Wednesday.

South Carolina OC Kendal Briles visited WR Jordan Frohock (6-2 180) of Pflugerville, TX on Wednesday.

South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer and DE coach Deion Barnes visited DE Frederick Ards (6-5 225) of Orlando on Thursday.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney and RB coach CJ Spiller visited RB Andrew Beard of Bogart, GA. He plans to visit for the junior day March 7th.

Texas A&M coaches visited with CB Joshua Dobson on Thursday.

South Carolina target DE KJ Green met with Alabama coaches on Wednesday.

Irmo OL Nate Carson was offered by Miami.

Bluffton WR Amare Patterson has not been offered by South Carolina, but he said Gamecock receivers coach Mike Furrey is slated to visit with him on Friday. He is scheduled to visit Florida this weekend and NC State next weekend.
