DE Peyton Bishop (6-4 230) of AC Flora had a monster season in 2025 with 103 tackles, 25 tackles for loss and 16 sacks. He has developed into one of the top pass rushers in the state, and as a result, major programs are making a rush at him.
His newest offer came first thing Tuesday morning from the Georgia Bulldogs.
“It was surprising. Woke up early in the morning, got a call from them, and it was surprising,” Bishop said. “They had seen me on Twitter, seen my film, and people are just talking about me up there. They said they like the way I get off the ball, my feel for the game of football and how I attack the ball.”
Army is also a new offer for Bishop, and that came following a school meeting with a coach from West Point. In November, he picked up offers from Ole Miss, Tennessee and Toledo. And October offers came from Mississippi State, Liberty and Cincinnati. Bishop also has offers from Wofford, Wofford, East Tennessee State, Kennesaw State, Miami of Ohio, The Citadel and SC State.
“I feel my recruiting is going very good right now,” Bishop said. “I’m just taking it day by day, to be honest.”
Bishop has been to South Carolina for camps, and he attended the Clemson game on an invitation from the coaching staff, but outside of that, he’s not heard from the Gamecocks or their new defensive ends coach Deion Barnes, yet. He certainly would love to hear from them.
“Always. It’s the hometown,” Bishop said. “I’m going to always have interest for them.”
Bishop also attended a camp at Clemson a couple of summers back, but since then, there’s been nothing from the Tigers.
Bishop said he will visit Georgia for a junior day in January, with the date to be determined. Otherwise, he’s just working to be even better than his All-Region form of 2025.
“I’m just focused on me right now and putting the work in.”
