DE Michael Foster (6-3 230) of Indian Land continues to be a critical target for the Clemson 2026 class. Defensive coordinator Tom Allen and defensive ends coach Chris Rumph have been in regular contact with Foster, who is committed to East Carolina, but who is giving Clemson a hard look after getting an offer from the Tigers this month.
“We’ve just been talking about the next steps and trying to get me up there for an official, probably in January,” Foster said Wednesday night. “They see how I am on and off the field. They see that I could be a part of Clemson and can’t wait for me to get up there and in the program and be developed in the program.”
Rumph and Allen had Foster in camp last summer, so they’ve seen his work up close. He’s gone on this season to have a big year with over 100 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 10 sacks in the regular season.
Foster’s only game visit this season was to East Carolina for their Homecoming. West Virginia is also an offer, and he plans to visit there next weekend. No Clemson visit is in place just yet, but he’s looking for an official visit with the Tigers in January since he won’t sign until February.
“I love Clemson,” he said. “I just want to know the school. I can’t go on my feelings. I want to be swayed by the school and the staff. Coach Rumph, Coach Allen, and I’ve talked to the Director of Recruiting. I always have a good time on the phone when talking to them. I just want to be able to see the academics, the facilities and see where I could fit in at the school.”
