2nd ranked South Carolina soars past the Eagles 106-56 as Winthrop no match inside for the bigger Gamecocks (AUDIO)

South Carolina outscored Winthrop 70-20 in the paint, and had three 20-point scorers, in a 106-56 rout Wednesday night at the Colonial Life Arena.

The Gamecocks shot 64% from the floor with 62 of their points coming on layups. The Gamecocks had 25 assists on their 43 made baskets.

They also scored 33 points off the fastbreak. USC forced 15 turnovers, which they converted into 26 points, and they had seven blocks and six steals.

Ta’Niya Latson led the Gamecocks in scoring with 24 points on 8-11 shooting. Madina Okot, who was 10-12 from the floor, had a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. And Joyce Edwards had 22 points on 9-13 shooting.

USC is 5-0 and will play host to Queens on Sunday afternoon.
