



South Carolina women won the second of two exhibiting games this month with a 91-82 win over North Carolina Thursday night in Atlanta. The Gamecocks led 49-38 at halftime, and led by 16 points late in the third quarter.
The Gamecocks pushed their lead to 20 points with 4:17 left. The Tar Heels finished the game on a 15-4 run to cut the final deficit to nine.
Five Gamecocks scored in double figures with Ta’Niya Latson and Tessa Johnson lead the way with 19 points each. Joyce Edwards added 12 points and nine rebounds.
The Gamecocks won the paint 54-34 though they only had 12 offensive rebounds and 15 second chance points.
USC will open the regular season Monday night at home against Grand Canyon.
