2027 DT Jaden Wuerth of Dutch Fork (formerly of Aquinas in Augusta) visited South Carolina for the last two home games. He talked some with head coach Shane Beamer along with fill-in defensive line coach Jordan Dove. The conversations went well, and Wuerth enjoyed the visits.
So, what’s the Gamecock’s positioning with him in the big picture of his recruitment?
“Pretty high on them,” Wuerth said. “They are still close to home, and I feel like it’s a good program. They develop D-linemen well. I feel like they are good coaches. They are pretty high up there for me.”
The proximity thing, Wuerth said, is a big deal to him.
“That’s in their favor for sure,” he said. “I know my family would for me to be close so they could come watch the games. Definitely helps.”
With Travian Robertson out while recovering from his car crash injuries, Dove has been handling Wuerth’s recruiting for USC.
“Coach Dove has been loving my film so far this year,” Wuerth said. “He’s been seeing that me and Julian have been dominating guys.”
Wuerth has also been to games this season at Clemson, Georgia Tech and NC State. He’s planning to go to Duke the end of November, and he might get to a game at Miami. He’s not formed a top list at this point, but that will come as his process continues.
“Finish all my game day visits this year, then take some junior days and stuff like that,” Wuerth said. “Once I set up my official visits, I’ll probably have a decision end of the summer.”
Through seven games this season, Wuerth had 38 tackles with six tackles for loss and three sacks.
