If you’re a season ticket holder for South Carolina men’s basketball, you are in for a treat this winter. USC announced its non-conference schedule on Tuesday, with ten of the thirteen games set to take place at Colonial Life Arena. As a matter of fact, the December 16th tilt with Clemson is the only “true” road game for Carolina prior to the start of SEC play. The other two non-conference trips outside of Columbia will take place as part of the Greenbrier Tip-Off in West Virginia.
USC Release: The Gamecocks will play 10 of their 13 non-SEC games at Colonial Life Arena, opening the season on Tuesday, Nov. 4 against NC A&T. Carolina will hit the court first for an exhibition game against NC State on Sunday, Oct. 26 at First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C.
After opening the season against the Aggies, the Gamecocks will play three more home games before heading to The Greenbrier Tip-Off to face Butler on Friday, Nov. 21 followed by Northwestern on Sunday, Nov. 23.
Carolina then returns home for a four-game homestand that starts with a Black Friday matchup against Charleston Southern on Nov. 28. The featured tilt in the homestand will come Tuesday, Dec. 2 against Virginia Tech in the ACC/SEC Challenge. The Gamecocks are 2-0 in challenge games with wins against Notre Dame and at Boston College the last two seasons.
The Gamecocks square-off with instate rival Clemson on Tuesday, Dec. 16 at Littlejohn Coliseum in the annual SC Education Lottery Palmetto Series. It will be the team’s only true road game during non-conference action. Head coach Lamont Paris, the 2024 SEC Coach of the Year, is 2-1 versus the Tigers with a 91-89 overtime victory last season at Colonial Life Arena.
Non-conference action concludes with two games around Christmas with Carolina hosting SC State on Monday, Dec. 22 and Albany on Tuesday, Dec. 30.
SEC play starts on Saturday, Jan. 3 as the Gamecocks host Vanderbilt.
