STRecruiting: The portal also features a boomerang effect that is bringing Cam Scott back to USC

Former Lexington standout Cam Scott is returning to his hometown team (The State)

Gamecock basketball player and potential transfer Cam Scott took a long look at the transfer portal and evidently didn’t like what he saw. On Tuesday, The State newspaper reported that the former Lexington High School star is returning to USC. Scott entered the portal on April 1st.

“There is no place like home,” his family told The State.

He joins Jordan Butler as a returner from last year’s team. USC is also hoping that guard Myles Stute will be back next year after missing most of this past season with a blood clot. The Gamecocks had picked up six commitments from the transfer portal this spring along with a five-member freshman signing class.

Scott appeared in twenty-six games this past season, averaging three points and one rebound per outing.
