Prior to last year’s college football playoff matchup with Texas, Clemson’s Adam Randall was a touch rusty lining up in the backfield.

“In little league, yes. That’s probably the last time I played running back,” Randall said regarding his new position. “It was just kinda natural; I’ve always been running with the ball. It’s not really too much of a big difference. Learning the details of the position has been the biggest thing I’ve been working on this spring.”

Out of necessity, Randall was thrust into the backfield against the Longhorns and led the Tigers with 44 yards on four carries in Clemson’s 38-24 loss at Texas.

This spring, the Myrtle Beach High School alum is adjusting to a full-time role at running back. He’s competing for the starting job with Keith Adams Jr., Jarvis Green, David Eziomume, and 2025 signee Gideon Davidson.

On Monday, he met with the media to discuss his transition into the Tigers’ backfield.
