Another week leads to another step on the CFP ladder. Following wins over Pittsburgh and Missouri, Clemson and South Carolina each moved up three spots in this week’s College Football Playoff rankings. The Tigers (8-2) check in at #17 this week, with the Gamecocks (7-3) right on their heels at #18. It’s the highest the Gamecocks have ever been ranked in the 11-year history of the College Football Playoff. USC was 19th in 2022 following its upset win over Clemson.
Should things go smoothly this weekend and some things happen towards the top, we could be staring at a “Top 15” showdown between the two next week in Clemson.
Oregon, Ohio State, Texas, Penn State, and Indiana are the “Top 5” teams in this week’s poll.
