Everyone loves a feel good, comeback story. But in the case of South Carolina linebacker Mo Kaba, his hope is to make the 2024 season and feel good, comeback story times three.
Kaba signed with the Gamecocks following his senior season in Clinton, NC in 2019, a season cut short by a torn ACL. He came back from that injury to play in nine games as a freshman and earn a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team.
He followed up his first season by playing in all 13 games and registering 32 tackles in 2021. Then, the injury bug bit Mohamed again, not once, but twice. He tore his ACL in the second game of the 2022 season and tore the ACL again in the opening game of last season.
No one would have blamed Kaba had he decided to call it a career. But he set in a media session earlier this week that he’s not ready to hang it up, so he gave it all he had in the offseason for another comeback attempt which he hopes will have a happier ending.
