#STRecruiting: 2026 WR Jordon Gidron set for two visits this week

The football recruiting dead period ends Wednesday meaning recruits can hit the road again for one week before the August dead period arrives. Highly regarded WR Jordon Gidron (6-2 175) of Ridge View plans to take advantage of the live period by visiting South Carolina Friday for their cookout and Auburn Saturday for Big Cat Weekend.

Gidron has a long list of offers which includes USC, Clemson, Miami, NC State, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Duke, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Arkansas and Appalachian State. He named a top twelve earlier this month of USC, Tennessee, Georgia, Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Duke, North Carolina, Florida State, NC State and LSU.

“Just trying to narrow down the list.  It’s still early,” Gidron said.  “I’ve got about ten to twelve schools and trying to find the best fit for me.  I’m looking at probably a good, genuine connection with a coach, and good coaching staff that can get me to the next level.  Just somewhere I feel like that’s home and I know the coach and is a person I can connect with and he’s someone that can develop me.”

Another major factor for Gidron will be the look of the offense as far as how the receivers are involved.

“My look at some of the type of offense, just how much success the receivers have,” Gidron said.  “If the receivers all have a lot of yards and they throw the ball a lot, that’s a place I could see myself at.”

South Carolina jumped on Gidron early in the process. He was first offered in December and then reoffered by new receivers coach Mike Furrey on March 10th. He visited for a junior day in late January. He returned for a spring practice in March and the spring game in April. He was also back on campus in June. Gidron said USC head coach Shane Beamer and Furrey have kept up their contact and he likes what he’s hearing.

“Just genuine,” he said.  “They contact me a lot.  I’m going there this Friday I’m pretty sure.  They are trying to build that connection.  I talk to Coach Furrey and Coach Beamer.   Coach Furrey seems like a good coach.  He talks about the NFL experience he has and the people he’s been around, and how he can develop you.  He just wants the best for me, so he seems like a good person, and I get a good feel from him.”

Gidron visited Clemson in March for a spring practice, was back for the spring game in April, and made a June stop as well. Receivers coach Tyler Grisham has been the Tiger in touch with him.

“Coach Grisham reaches out every now and then,” Gidron said.  “He said I’m a high priority for them, at the top of their list, and just to keep working.  I just like that he’s real energetic.  I like his energy.  I went to a practice and saw he was running the players.  I’m looking forward to building that connection.”

Along with the Gamecocks and Tigers, Gidron said he’s been getting a lot of love from Auburn, Florida State, Alabama, NC State, Duke, Miami and North Carolina. He made June visits and/or camp stops with Ole Miss, Auburn, Georgia, North Carolina and NC State. He said he’d like to make a decision in early 2025, if he can. If not, he’ll wait until next June or July.

Last season Gidron caught 38 passes and averaged 17 yards per catch, and he scored ten touchdowns.
