The 64 team NCAA Baseball Tournament field was announced Monday afternoon. Clemson was named the #6 national seed and will have Coastal Carolina in its regional. South Carolina was made the #2 seed in the NC State Regional, and Wofford was made the #3 seed in the UNC Regional. The College of Charleston, winner of 41 games and the CAA regular season title, was left out of the tournament field.
Clemson is a national top eight seed for the second straight season. The Tigers will face the Big South champs and #4 seed High Point at 7:00 PM Friday night. Vanderbilt will be the #2 seed at Doug Kingsmore Stadium and will take on Coastal at Noon. The winner of the Clemson Regional will face the winner from the Oklahoma State Regional in the Super Regional.
USC road an impressive SEC Tournament showing into a number two seed for the NC State Regional. The Gamecocks will face James Madison of the Sun Belt Friday at 2:00 PM. NC State is the #1 seed and will face Bryant Friday night. The winner of the regional will face the winner from the Georgia Regional in the Super Regional.
Wofford won its way into the tournament by winning the Southern Conference Tournament Championship Sunday with a pair of wins over Samford. The Terriers will face SEC Tournament runner-up LSU Friday at Noon. Top seed North Carolina will meet Long Island Friday night. The winner of the regional will meet the winner of the Arizona Regional in the Super Regional.
