New Gamecocks baseball coach Kevin Schnall and his staff are working quickly to remake the roster, adding a proven arm through the transfer portal and an athletic high school prospect to their list of commitments, Monday.
Left-hander Dominick Carbone announced on social media that he will be following in his coach’s footsteps and transfer from Coastal Carolina to South Carolina.
Carbone was 6-0 with a 2.36 ERA in 2025 before missing all of the 2026 season after undergoing UCL surgery. Carbone, a D1Baseball Preseason First Team All-American, will have two years of eligibility remaining.
The Gamecocks also landed a commitment from the high school ranks as SS Miles Keogh (Legendary Prep Academy, Phoenix, Ari.) announced his intentions on social media, Monday. Keogh (5-11, 190) had previously committed to Coastal Carolina prior to last season. Keogh has been profiled as a high-level athlete with the versatility to play multiple positions.
