Despite their 4-4 record this season, the Clemson defense has been very good. But the Tiger defense can’t hold a candle to the defensive performance of head coach Dabo Swinney on his call-in show Monday night. Swinney was put on the defensive by a caller identified as Tyler from Spartanburg by show host Don Munson.
Tyler, who claimed to be a lifelong Clemson fan, clearly did not have an appreciation for what Swinney has accomplished in his time at Clemson. Tyler was more focused on the Tigers’ current 4-4 record and Swinney’s salary, which is nearly $11 million for this season, second most in college football behind only Nick Saban of Alabama.
Swinney listened quietly to Tyler’s critique for over two minutes before he cut him off and responded in kind.
