#Gamecocks fire their cannons in 8-1 win over The Citadel (AUDIO)

Founders Park, Columbia: After hitting five home runs in the Clemson series over the weekend, USC blasted fouir more homers Tuesday night in an 8-1 win over The Citadel at Founders Park in Columbia. Gavin Casas (8th), Ethan Petry (6th), Will McGillis (6th) and Jonathan French (1) went deep as part of a nine hit USC attack.

The Gamecocks, after Tuesday night’s games, are second in the country in home runs with 36. Florida, which hit three homers in a win over FAU, has hit 38.

Eli Jones started on the mound for the Gamecocks and earned his third win of the season in as many decisions. He pitched five innings and allowed five hits and one run. Eli Jerzembeck followed with three innings of perfection and four strike outs. Nick Proctor finished up allowing a hit but striking out three.

The Gamecocks are 12-1 and play Upstate at Fluor Field in Greenville Wednesday night. The Citadel is 7-5.
