USC assistants update #Gamecocks spring football (AUDIO)

The Gamecocks are looking to replace USC’s all-time leading scorer in PK Parker White (USC Athletics)

USC football is continuing to roll through spring practice as the Gamecocks prepare for their annual “Garnet and Black” game on Saturday, April 16th under the lights at Wiliams-Brice Stadium. Between the end of spring football and the start of the new season against Georgia State, USC will have to find a replacement for kicker Parker White. During Carolina’s bowl win over North Carolina, White became the school’s all-time leading scorer with 368 points, surpassing the previous record of 359 held by Elliott Fry.

On Wednesday, special teams coordinator Pete Lembo joined defensive back Torrian Gray and wide receivers coach Justin Stepp to discuss with the media USC’s progress thus far in spring practice. Lembo started out his availability by joking that he’s not authorized to discuss any hires in other sports, presumably referencing the pending addition of Lamont Paris as the Gamecocks new men’s basketball coach. Lembo also said that his unit is continuing to push to get better, while noting that Mitch Jeter is off to a good start this spring and is a big part of the competition for the place kicking job.
