Shane Beamer’s coaching staff is filled again with the addition of Jody Wright as the tight ends coach. Wright comes to Columbia with a vast degree if experience ranging from the high school ranks to the NFL. Wright’s most recent stop was with the New York Giants. He replaces Erik Kimrey who left earlier in the month for the head coaching job at The Baylor School in Chattanooga.
Monday afternoon Beamer met in person with the media and took questions about his team while also officially introducing Wright to the public as a member of his staff.
So did they decide that supers seniors are not going to count again for 2022? Because Beamer said our roster is pretty much set, but we’re over by 9 scholarships, if you count those guys.
The extra year applied to athletes in the spring of 2020, and in the fall and winter of 2021. So, there could be some super seniors on the 2022 roster.
Yea I know we’ll have some. I’m just wondering if they are going to count against the 85 scholarships limit?? Apparently they are not, or else we’d be way over the limit for the ‘22 season. I know they didn’t count this past season, but I hadn’t heard about how that was going to work moving forward.
As far as I can tell, for 2022, you can only have 85 on scholarship.
