
The Daniel Lions built a 24-7 halftime lead and kept Camden at bay the rest of the way in a 45-20 victory in the 3A State Championship Game at Benedict College Friday afternoon. The Lions defeated the Bulldogs in the title game for the second year in a row and claimed the seventh state championship in school history. Camden never got closer than 10 points in the second half.
Both teams did well what they do well. Daniel passed for 272 yards and Camden rushed for 314 yards. Daniel quarterback Trent Pearman accounted for all the passing yards going 27-36 with four touchdown throws. Misun Kelly was on the receiving end of 11 passes for 112 yards and 2 scores. Camden quarterback Grayson White passed for 175 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 90 yards and a score.
